　　東風汽車公司（原二汽）始建于1969年，是依靠我國自己的力量, 采取"聚寶"方式設計、建設和裝備起來的現代化汽車生產企業，也是國家明確重點支持的三大汽車集團之一。1978年五噸民用車投產，十堰基地初具規模。1981年以二汽為核心的東風集團成立。1986年東風集團作為國家經濟改革的試點，首批在國家計劃中實行單列。1993年被國家批準為國有資產授權經營試點企業，同年開展了以輕轎建設為重點的產品結構調整。"東風"商標被國 家工商局評定為全國汽車行業首家馳名商標。
